There are predefined roles available:

• Admin
• Editor
• Viewer

Custom roles are not supported.

Meaning of the Roles

Admin

• Full access to all functions, devices, and dashboards
• Access to all smart services
• Can:
  • invite users,
  • change roles,
  • remove users,
  • subscribe to smart services in the Service Store
• Device and dashboard assignments are effectively irrelevant for admins, as they always have access to everything

Editor

• Access to assigned devices and dashboards
• No administrative rights
• No access to the User Management Service

Viewer

• Read-only access to assigned devices and dashboards
• No administrative rights
• No access to the User Management Service

Access to the User Management Service

• Only admins can:
• access the User Management Service,
• manage users,
• change roles,
• remove users
• Editors and viewers have no access to this service.
