This section describes exclusively the Rates tab in the Action Area of the Energy Management Service.
It covers all UI elements, icons, states, and configuration options related to cost and emission rates.
Purpose of the Rates Tab
The Rates tab is used to:
- define cost models
- configure emission factors
- convert consumption data into costs and emissions
All values defined in the Rates tab are used in widgets, reports, and alerts.
Basic Structure of the Rates Tab
The Rates tab displays a list of predefined energy types, for example:
- Electricity
- Gas
- Heat
- Cold
Each energy type can contain cost and emission configurations.
Expanding an Energy Type
Clicking on an energy type:
- opens a dropdown
- displays the sections:
- Costs
- Emissions
Costs – Flat Rate
Cost Type Display
In the “Costs” row, the following is shown:
- the currently active cost type, for example Flat Rate
- a banknote icon
The icon indicates that a cost rate is configured.
Expanding Flat Rates
To the right of the banknote icon, there is an arrow.
Clicking this arrow:
- displays all active flat rates
- lists them chronologically by start date
Creating a New Flat Rate
Within the expanded flat rates, the user can click “New Rate”.
The user must define:
- a start date
- a price
- a currency
- a billing unit
Clicking “Apply Changes” saves the configuration.
Multiple Flat Rates
If multiple flat rates are configured:
- the banknote icon changes
- a number indicates how many flat rates exist
The applicable rate is automatically selected based on the date.
Deleting a Flat Rate
Using the three-dot menu of a flat rate:
- the rate can be deleted
Costs – Time-of-Use
Switching the Cost Type
In the “Costs” row, a three-dot menu is available.
Selecting “Switch to Time-of-Use”:
- changes the cost type from Flat Rate to Time-of-Use
Data Source for Time-of-Use
For Time-of-Use rates, costs can be based on:
- a device metric
- a CSV file
The logic corresponds to the metric import process in the Metrics tab.
Emissions
Structure
The Emissions section follows the same logic as the Costs section:
- Flat Rate supported
- Time-of-Use supported
- multiple time-based rates possible
- start date defines validity
Validity and Persistence
All changes in the Rates tab:
- are saved immediately
- directly affect widgets and reports
No separate save action is required.
