This section describes exclusively the Alerts area of the Energy Management Service.
It covers the complete workflow for creating, evaluating, and displaying alerts.
Purpose of the Alerts Area
The Alerts area is used to:
- automatically monitor critical conditions
- notify users of threshold violations
- provide traceable logging of events
Alerts are based on:
- existing metrics
- calculations
- widgets and their data context
Basic Structure of the Alerts Area
The Alerts area consists of:
- an overview of existing alert rules
- a New Alert Rule button
- the Alert Log on the right-hand side
New Alert Rule – Start
A new alert is created by:
- clicking New Alert Rule
This starts a guided creation process.
Alert Rule – Required Fields
Title
- A title is mandatory
- The title is used to uniquely identify the alert
Notification Type
The user selects how notifications should be delivered:
- in-app notification (Proficloud)
Both types can be combined.
Priority
The user selects a priority level:
- Low
- Medium
- High
The priority is used for classification in the Alert Log.
Notification Targets
Email Addresses
- One or more email addresses can be defined
- Multiple addresses are entered using a separator
Alert Data Basis
Metric Type
The user selects:
- the metric type, for example energy
Data Source
Next, the user selects one of the following:
- a specific metric
- a metering point
- or a calculation
Only valid combinations can be selected.
Evaluation Interval
The user defines:
- how often the condition is evaluated
Available intervals:
- hourly
- daily
- weekly
Alert Condition
Comparison Direction
The user selects:
- greater than
- less than
Threshold
- A numeric threshold value is entered
Unit
- The unit is selected according to the metric
Frequency
- An additional evaluation frequency can be defined
- for example every minute
Creating the Alert
By clicking Create:
- the alert rule is saved
- the alert becomes active immediately
No separate activation step is required.
Alert Triggering
When a condition is met:
- an alert is triggered
- notifications are sent according to the selected notification type
Alert Log
Purpose
The Alert Log displays:
- all triggered alerts
- sorted chronologically
Contents
For each alert, the following information is shown:
- title
- timestamp
- priority
- affected metric
