This section describes dashboards only within the Energy Management Service.
It covers the gray dashboard bar, dashboard creation, switching and deletion,
license display, and fullscreen behavior.

Position and Role of Dashboards

Dashboards are the central workspace in the Energy Management Service.

A dashboard:

  • contains widgets
  • serves as the basis for reports
  • is always the context for Action Area settings

Each user always works within exactly one active dashboard.

Gray Dashboard Bar

The gray dashboard bar is located directly below the header.

Content of the Dashboard Bar

The gray bar displays:

  • the name of the currently active dashboard

Button to Show or Hide the Action Area

To the left of the dashboard name, there is a toggle button.

Clicking this button:

  • shows or hides the Action Area
  • changes the available width of the Dashboard Area

No content is changed or saved.

Creating a New Dashboard

On the far right of the gray dashboard bar, there is a plus icon.

Clicking this icon:

  • creates a new dashboard
  • automatically sets the new dashboard as active

The new dashboard:

  • is empty
  • is initially named “New Dashboard”
  • can be renamed in the Dashboard tab

Dashboard Area

The Dashboard Area is the large white area to the right of the Action Area.

Here:

  • all widgets are displayed
  • the “New Widget” button is located
  • widgets can be arranged and viewed

Dashboard Fullscreen Mode

Within the Dashboard Area, a button is available to switch to fullscreen mode.

Clicking this button:

  • switches the entire dashboard to fullscreen
  • hides the header and navigation
  • displays only the Dashboard Area

This mode is different from widget fullscreen mode.

License and Metric Usage Display

Within the Dashboard Area, a circular indicator is displayed.

Clicking this element shows:

  • how many metrics are currently in use
  • which license is active (Trial or Pro)

From here, users can:

  • review license details
  • perform a license upgrade

Dashboard Tab in the Action Area

Dashboard Title

In the Dashboard tab:

  • the dashboard title can be edited

The title:

  • appears in the gray dashboard bar
  • is saved immediately

Dashboard Description

Optionally, a description can be added.

This description:

  • improves transparency
  • can be used in reports
  • can be referenced via linked Text Widgets

Dashboard Access

The Dashboard tab displays:

  • which users have access to the dashboard

Users are managed via the User Management Service.

Using the three-dot menus, users can:

  • be removed from the dashboard
  • be redirected directly to the User Management Service

Deleting a Dashboard

At the lower-left corner of the Action Area, there is an option to delete the dashboard.

Rule:

  • the last remaining dashboard cannot be deleted

When a dashboard is deleted:

  • all widgets within the dashboard are removed
  • reports created from this dashboard remain available as files
