Energy Consumption Forecast with Machine Learning
Get ahead with predictive energy insights. The new Forecast feature in the Energy Management Service offers smart, data-driven energy consumption forecasts – easy to activate, intuitive to use.
The Energy Management Service has been expanded with a powerful new feature: machine learning-based forecasting. This enhancement enables companies to estimate future energy consumption, increase transparency and detect potential overconsumption early on – a key step toward proactive energy management in line with ISO 50001.
Forecast of Energy Consumption
The team of the Energy Management Service introduces a significant upgrade to its established Energy Management Service: a forecasting function that delivers precise energy consumption predictions using machine learning algorithms.
The Forecast feature, activated via a simple toggle button. It provides users with a visual preview of future energy consumption, displayed in various chart formats. The predictions are based on trained ML models that factor in historical consumption data, production volumes and seasonal fluctuations.

Users can adjust the confidence interval and receive transparent feedback on the prediction quality – enabling informed decisions.
With the forecasting feature, we’re taking our Energy Management Service to the next level of user-centricity. Companies now get not only historical and current data, but also a data-driven look ahead. A clear advantage for continuous improvement and strategic energy planning.

Energy Forecasting as a Strategic Advantage
The new Forecast feature in Phoenix Contact’s Energy Management Service is far more than a technical add-on – it’s a strategic tool for companies aiming to actively shape their energy efficiency and plan their future with intention. In times of rising energy costs, increasing regulatory demands and growing sustainability goals, the ability to forecast energy consumption with precision becomes a critical success factor.

This allows companies to:
- Identify potential overconsumption early
- Estimate future cost developments
- Implement proactive control measures
In short: the Forecast feature makes energy management not only smarter, but future-ready. It combines technological innovation with practical relevance, help companies to not just meet their energy targets, but to exceed them strategically.
Designed for ISO 50001-Certified Energy Management
A The new feature is tailored for users who are certifying or recertifying their energy management processes according to ISO 50001. It supports transparency, efficiency and data quality – especially in the context of ISO-compliant evaluation of energy performance.
Availability
The Forecasting function is part of the Energy Management Service and will be released as a BETA version shortly before the SPS fair 2025 in Nürnberg.
Live demonstrations of the Forecast feature will be held at the Phoenix Contact booth during SPS Fair 2025 in Nürnberg.
